Charles Robert Redford, Jr. war ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler, Filmregisseur und Filmproduzent. Er zählte seit den späten 1960er Jahren zu den populärsten Hollywoodschauspielern und war zwischen 1973 und 1976 der kassenträchtigste Filmstar. Redford hat neun Spielfilme inszeniert und für sein Regiedebüt Eine ganz normale Familie 1981 den Oscar erhalten. Außerdem war er auch als Umweltschützer aktiv und unterstützte unter anderem den Natural Resources Defense Council.
