Kathleen Mary „Kathy“ Griffin (* 4. November 1960) ist eine US-amerikanische Schauspielerin, Model, Stand-up-Comedian, Fernsehpersönlichkeit, Bestsellerautorin der New York Times und Aktivistin für LGBT-Rechte. Bekannt wurde Griffin zunächst durch Gastauftritte in zwei Folgen von „Seinfeld“ und später durch ihre Nebenrolle in der NBC-Sitcom „Suddenly Susan“. Sie war der Star der Bravo-Reality-Show „Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List“, für die sie als ausführende Produzentin zwei Emmy Awards gewann. Neben ihrer Tätigkeit als Sprecherin und Kommentatorin auf dem roten Teppich verfolgt sie diverse weitere Karrierewege. Von 2008 bis 2013 war sie für einen Grammy Award in der Kategorie „Bestes Comedy-Album“ nominiert und gewann ihn 2013. Im März 2011 gab sie ihr Broadway-Debüt in „Kathy Griffin Wants a Tony“, um einen Tony Award zu gewinnen.
