Eden und Dawn sind schon seit Kindertagen unzertrennlich beste Freundinnen. Sie sind gemeinsam in New York aufgewachsen und befinden sich nun in unterschiedlichen Phasen des Erwachsenseins. >"Hormones? LOL, Mitch McConnell! I love you. What?" Written by and Starring Ilana Glazer + Directed by Pamela Adlon = just as good as you'd hope. Man this was glorious. Very funny and—dare I say?—life-affirming. Please go see this in theaters if you have the chance.
My type of movie. Silly funny. Yes , its a MUST WATCH!
I love these two women but everything they're in is just not as good as it could it should be. Still, this was an easy watch and I would be lying if the main conflict didn't punch me in the gut. As someone who has no family, is single, and is child-free by choice, I've had to process so much pain over friendships that I've cultivated for years suddenly falling off because my friends get into relationships or have kids. My best friend casually told me she was moving two stars over a month before she left during the pandemic. Eden's speech about how people like her just aren't built the same way as those who follow a traditional path and how we get left behind really hit hard. Also this idea that people who do follow a traditional path are somehow more mature than those is is who don't even though they are often miserable. Overall, a good watch even though I wish the writing was tighter.
I liked it. There are points where you can lose interest for moments, but on the whole this is my kind of comedy. Good chemistry between the leads. Glazer does feel like she's doing more Wexler from BC, but it works. Buteau was fabulous. 6.5
It felt like a romantic comedy, but for a friendship. All of it rang so true. Loved it
