Handlung
Vida Boheme und Noxeema Jackson nehmen an einem Drag-Queen-Wettbewerb teil, der sie direkt nach Hollywood zur Endausscheidung des Landes führen soll. Der erste Preis ist eine Flugreise in die Stadt der Träume. Die beiden gewinnen, aber noch bevor sie den Flughafen erreichen, lernen sie die verzweifelte Chi Chi Rodriguez kennen. Um sie mitnehmen zu können, tauschen sie das Flugticket gegen ein Auto ein. Auf ihrer Reise quer durch die USA müssen sie in einem Provinznest rasten, was die Rednecks in helle Aufregung versetzt.

this movie makes me so happy :) I love everything about it! but what I love the most is how the three main actors approached their roles so respectfully and PERFECTLY (I've read they based their performances on women from their own families), which I find pretty heartwarming considering this is a 28 year old movie and they weren't actors I would have guessed to be cast in a movie like this; even though it does line up with their images as *badasses*, but just not in the conventional way. I hope Snipes and Leguizamo are still aware of how important this movie is for a lot of people, as I hope Mr. Swayze is resting in peace 💐 "I don't think of you as a man, and I don't think of you as a woman. I think of you as an angel."

A silly but cute movie. And I'm still surprised Swayze, Snipes and Leguizamo were up for this way back in 1995.

Such a beautiful and comforting movie about embracing oneself and using that strength to empower others. Definitely one of my absolute favorites
