Much better than the second movie (that I believe has to be ignored)
Dont know why this one gets a bad rap. Could feel the heart of the first movie in this with modern cinematography. The story of an adoptive son was pointless and goes against his lone wolf persona. The second one we know was terrible and was set in an alternate timeline (universe) So if you consider this a direct sequel it holds up. :metal_tone1:
What the hell did I just watch? Okay, no, I don’t accept it, this movie is by far the worst one. Yeah, Highlander 2 completely broke the story and the universe created by the first film, but at least it was a movie with some soul, that wanted to tell something and more or less managed to do it. This, on the other hand, is a disaster. It looks horrible. The color palette it uses is awful and feels completely pointless from a creative standpoint. The music is terrible, the story is terrible, and the pacing is really weird, it feels like it’s going at 200 km/h but at the same time nothing actually happens. The movie never gives you a single moment to breathe; it’s like it’s afraid to stop for even a second, in case you start questioning what you’re watching. I honestly think there’s absolutely nothing redeemable about it, and no, following the lore of the original isn’t a positive point if the movie doesn’t do anything interesting or good with it. Honestly, it’s one of the worst things I’ve seen. Boring as hell too.
In a certain spirit (copy) of the original.
