Like an adult diaper: funnier in theory than in reality, and full of shit. Kev Adams, French millennial comic gone pro, produces a film he got the idea for after watching a million cliché ridden feel-good films, then convinced Gérard Depardieu it would make a good tax write off. The good news is they didn't put all the funny parts in the trailer... The bad news is it's because there are no funny parts.
La cosa che mi ha toccato di più è la scena finale. Un'idea da effettuare nella realtà e da promuovere su larga scala, per un mondo migliore.
Honestly, I'll never understand people who don't like French films. And that's coming from me, because I'm from Spain, and I love everything that comes out of France. With this film, I was able to identify with two members of my family; because they work caring for elderly people. I really enjoyed the role of Gérard Depardieu as an old, retired boxer in the film. I've come to empathize with him a lot, and I even cried as if it were my grandfather. But there are things that I haven't come to like very much; such as, for example, the role of the protagonist.
"The typical orphaned kid who lives off drug money; and then he gets arrested and ends up working in a nursing home."
Quite the cast! Lovely to see these French cinema legends, Marie Pierre Casey, Marthe Villalonga, Mylene Demongeot... Sadly this is a mediocre, predictable movie, with a few problematic aspects. Some shitty homophobic stereotypes meant to be a joke are representative of how poorly written this is. It's a comedy not because it's funny but because the situations are unlikely.
