The classic odd couple plot, but Farley and Spade manage to pull off on screen distain while being in love with each other off screen. Their chemistry is showcased here in this road trip gone wild flick.

I remember liking this a lot more when I watched it years ago, closer to its release date. Farley and Spade were clearly in the mainstream at that time and I'm sure that didn't hurt my initial take on "Tommy Boy". I didn't remember much about this during my recent viewing and that's probably because it's not really memorable. I can watch reruns of Saturday Night Live and still find Farley and Spade funny when they performed their skits on that show. Stretched out to a full length movie, their act wears a little thin. This is a good movie. Good meaning just okay.

Chris Farley and David Spade star in the hilarious comedy _Tommy Boy_. When his father dies Tommy attempts to save his family’s company by going on a sales trip, but to succeed he needs to partner with someone who knowns the company better then him. Farley and Spade made for a great comedic duo, and are backed by a strong supporting cast that includes Brian Dennehy, Bo Derek, Dan Aykroyd, and Rob Lowe. Some of the slapstick is a little broad, but most of it works. And while the plot is pretty formulaic, it also has a bit of heart. _Tommy Boy_ has its problems, but overall it’s entertaining and delivers a lot of laughs.

It's pretty much standard issue 90s comedy but with some more heart and some chemistry especially towards the end. I can't say it holds up if you don't have nostalgia for it.

Just an excellent Farley and Spade comedy. Immature American teenage humour at its best. Just great fin zoo watch. No thinking required ;-)
