_One Good Cop_ is the story of Artie Lewis, a NYPD detective and loving husband of Rita, played by Rene Russo in an early role. Michael Keaton actually does well here staying away from much of the melodrama he acquired throughout his career. Artie and his partner Stevie have a penchant for getting themselves in trouble in an almost A-Team like fashion. When an iced out hood takes widower Stevie down, his will stipulates that Rita and Artie will be the caregivers for his three daughters. They have always wanted children of their own but the instant complication in their life puts a strain on them financially and emotionally. We find out what a man will do for his family. The story is fairly decent up to this point but the ending is pretty contrived and convenient. Not a strong recommend.
