This is a film for the heart. A recently deceased mother is granted the opportunity to “vacation” with her daughter. The rest is a story of love, loss , choices, regrets and reconciliation. The writing is superb. The performances are perfect, (considering the casting, you shouldn’t be surprised). The production is beautiful. The moments are both tender and comical. Definitely a movie for moms and daughters. I give this film a 10 (deeply moving) out of 10.
Beautiful cinematography with a slow-paced storyline that explored the troubled relationship between a recently deceased mother and her daughter with a light tone. I thought the movie explored many common experiences a family stuggling to raise above their circumstances might have to deal with it. While I may not have agreed with the forced perspective that a parent will do everything for their children and they should be forgiven for it, I did appreciate the emphasis on the love between the mother daughter duo in all their interactions. All in all, I enjoyed the movie but would advise people who get triggered by the idea of a parent doing things 'for your own good' to come in with an open mind and leave your personal experience behind if you want to exjoy the movie.
