Handlung
Herr K checkt in einem einst stattlichen Hotel ein. Am nächsten Morgen ist Herr K. verständlicherweise verwirrt, weil er den Ausgang nicht finden kann. Allerdings hat der Magier auch nicht viel Zeit für die Suche, denn die anderen Hotelbewohner, eine bunte Truppe von Musikern, ein emsiges Küchenteam und ein sehr stilvoller älterer Gast, fordern ihn.

Ridiculous!The start was promising but after the first 5 minutes kept getting worse.Think of Wes Anderson but without heart.It was awful.

I feel like I've watched different aspects of this movie numerous times on rental VHS b-movies back in the 90s, though never in a maximalist cabaret like this. Being a surreal and absurd and nightmarish thingy it opens up to possibilities for interpretation but I can't say I'm interested enough in figuring out if there was an underlying concept that might give it dimensions or if it was being wonky for the purpose of the wonk itself with some existential voice overs to give the impression of depth. It had moments but also plenty of transport and a plot that is "inspired by" at best though really derivative. Saved by the performance by Crispin Glover although barely.
