Handlung
Nachdem der Kontakt mit dem Bergbauschiff Ishimura und der Kolonie auf Aegis VII abgebrochen ist, werden Marines zur Untersuchung geschickt. Sie finden 4 Überlebende, die eingehend verhört werden und die Ihr Geheimnis auf eine entsetzliche Art und Weise preisgeben. --- Der Film ist Teil einer Serie, die durch Comics, Videospiele und Filme erzählt wird. Dieser Film schließt die Lücke zwischen den Spielen DS und DS2. Das Marineschiff findet auch die Rettungskapsel mit Isaac Clarke, dem Helden der beiden Spiele. Nachdem es auf der Raumstation "Sprawl" ankommt, soll dieser ebenfalls verhört werden. Ein weiteres Spiel, DS Ignition, erzählt die Ereignisse nach diesem Film auf der Sprawl, die inzwischen von den Necromorphs infiziert ist, und endet damit, dass Isaac Clarke wiederbelebt wird. Genau hier schließt dann das Spiel DS2 an.

What the hell did I just watch? The mix between the different styles was just breathtakingly bad. Not only was it done so poorly, it also didn't even resemble the characters one bit between the two styles. The use of 3D CGI was just... I can't find any words. I found myself guessing which character I was looking at throughout the whole movie. Dead Space: Downfall was a really good movie, so what the hell happened to this one? Talk about brainfart. This one is absolutely not worth a watch. Keep away.

It's unfortunately marred by some really awful CG animation. But the stories in between, with the different styles of anime was cool. As was getting different perspectives of the same story, Rashomon-style. It's a very interesting and graphic universe this plays in, but again, the animation in the wraparounds ruins this movie...
