Fantastic movie....serious , funny , thought provoking, great soundtrack, goth girl....what more do you want

Penn's pretended apathetic behavior is terribly irritating. I couldn't get used to it, and I didn't think it was funny, which might have been the point of his appearance.

Sean Penn continues to astound with his performances. Part Robert Smith, part Ozzy Osbourne, his portrayal of Cheyenne is excellent. I really enjoyed this movie.

Wanted to like it. Not really funny but Penn is great and makes even simple lines humorous. He performs on a level better that the contents of this movie shouldn't allow, and in a way it seems out of place. The movie tries too hard to have a heart. It become tedious. It attempts to comment of human psycology, but I disagree with the reasoning often. I found the soundtrack too sappy at times, again trying to be very emotional but it gets annoying. Imagine if Richard Curtis made a rock star version of About Schmidt but it lacked jokes and, interesting characters / plot.

I want these two hours of ny life back.
