Just finished the movie and honestly enjoyed it. Very cool visuals and cool music, and the story is interesting for sure but funny enough I like that they didn't drag it out and tried making it a long movie, an hour and a half was just perfect. Jared Letto was honestly a good fit for Ares, I don't know why people automatically hate the guy, but for this role it was a good fit. If you liked Tron and enjoy the style of movie, you will like this one too. Don't over think it, just enjoy it.
Fuck the haters man, what do you honestly expect? I'm not a turn your brain off and enjoy person but this movie is still fucking awesome. I get the hate for Jared Leto (JL incident) but he was honestly fine in this movie. Awesome visuals, awesome music, awesome fight scenes. Max coolness factor without max cringe factor.
I'm not sure what people are complaining about, and to be honest, I don't even care. All that matters to me is how much I enjoyed a film... I had a great time! Sure, quallity wise, there isn't much to the story and very basic characters. However, to that, I ask, did you even watch the previous films? There wasn't much happening in those either. Jared Leto got more character development than anyone in a previous TRON film. Often, what I've noticed people like about these films is the visuals and the soundtrack. I thought the they we real good in this film. I also like the change where now the grid elements are entering the real world. There's was just more life to this film. All is to say, this is in no way a perfect film. (or even a great film for that matter) But I had a great time, and honestly, I'd go as far to say it's my favourite TRON film. Also, shoutout to Arturo Castro, who continues to crack me every time I see him.
Is it so hard for Disney to hire a better looking main lead actress? Even Hallmark has better casting! Poor storyline, basic acting, disappointing soundtrack. Disney succeeded in downplaying main TRON characters and probably ruining this franchise.
Just finished it — sharp visuals, great music, tight story. Jared Leto nailed Ares, hate aside. If you liked Tron, you’ll like this. Quick, stylish, and worth the watch.
