In certain ways this movie has aged a little bit, like the constant smoking, the attitude of men towards women, but it's still a superb story, greatly enhanced by a formidable supporting cast. Belmondo in the lead, regrettably plays Belmondo rather than the role, which is a pity, knowing how god an actor he could be, but this does not deter from the story and the slow uncovering of the sordid details [spoiler]that led him to be incarcerated and seek the ultimate culprit who framed him[/spoiler]. Almost 50 years after its release it's still a very solid film, served well by a great score, very good cinematography, great dialogues, and a great plot.
