The documentary is absolutely ruthless in its portrayal of Austria as a country that never wanted to accept its active collaboration with Nazism ("Kurt Waldheim is the perfect president for Austria. But he is a disgrace"). Beckerman's gaze reminds us, in the present, of the mistakes of the past.
