Slow burn, but incredibly powerful. It meandered for a while and then I felt myself completely sucked into the pain of the characters. The story is reasonably cliche (poor family, abusive home and all the problems associated with that), but this flick is all about the effect that has on the characters. Solid performances all around. This was a heavy watch. I imagine the lack of action and slowness might bother some, but if you are the type of person who truly gets absorbed by what the characters are going through, this won’t disappoint.
