Tight, claustrophobic and intense, there's also a fresh bit of levity with some of the humor in it. It's a good little disaster/survival film that works at showing the value of life. Korea's been killing it with their output lately.

Pretty much what I'd expected. Fortunately, I expected it to be good.

Impressive special effects on a low budget—a total slap in the face to Hollywood, which spends a fortune and does worse! So, basically, this is a film about humanity. It’s a feature film that adds real value, teaching us lessons in ethics and morals even in a life-or-death situation. It truly captures the raw emotion of the crisis; the camera angles, the sound design, the effects... honestly, guys, it’s an astonishing movie. Everything is so well executed and planned—without a doubt, the technical prowess and overall quality are the main highlights of Tunnel. The only blunder is the scene with the helicopters transporting the excavators; a helicopter of that specific model could never lift machines weighing nearly 5 tons. Fun fact: this tunnel has already appeared in another drama, or maybe it was a feature film?! I know the answer, but I'm not telling! (hahahahahaha) Aside from the suspense, the drama is incredibly heavy, dealing with the brutal situations and dilemmas that weigh down on everyone involved. We get solid performances from the cast; Ha Jung-woo, Oh Dal-su, and Bae Doona are exceptionally brilliant. However, we absolutely need to praise Nam Ji-hyun for what she did in Tunnel—her character truly shone. Highly recommended!

The only place I could find to watch this movie was a streaming service with ads. I HATE ADS!!! This is a thriller. Stopping in the middle of suspense, repeatedly, for 7 ads at a time is a momentum killer. (I had to get that off my chest - grrrrr!). Did the movie survive the interruptions? I was so involved in the drama that I shouted at the screen when ads interrupted it, so I’m going to say it did well as a thriller. I am following Bae Doo-na’s filmography, and she did not disappoint. She is such a talent. The primary performances were the man who was trapped and the engineer who was trying to rescue him. Both performances were great. The social commentary is worth mentioning because it posted the question, “What is the value of a person life to a nation?” I give this movie a 7 (good suspense) out of 10. It may have deserved more if my viewing experience hadn’t been so frustrating. [Thriller]

I liked this film quite much with a different kind of husband and wife struggle which takes place inside a tunnel where this incident happened to the husband and his wife has to endure the aftermath of the whole ordeal. With a wholesome ending that warmth the heart. A very simple movie but with a plain-sight message of their love for each other.
