While I agree with a lot of the criticism of this film, I think overall it kind of works. The plot and acting is kind of disjointed and inconsistent, as others have said, but it wasn't a dealbreaker. It seems like just one too many ideas got smashed together - the pregnancy/body horror, the cultist angle, the weird/metaphysical aspect all didn't come together as well as they should. I thoguht the first two acts were great, but the third act is corridor-drama and confusing monologue. It's no masterpiece, but if you want a kooky, ambitious b-movie to watch in October this isn't a bad choice.
Lovecraftian horror, with a little bit of Clive Barker thrown in, this isn't a bad film, just a little messy at times. In a world of cookie-cutter horror, this is trying to be something a little bit different. With a little more fleshing out of the mythos at the core, this would have been a better film.
What a HUGE disappointment... I'm not sure if it's me that has seen way too many movies or that the movie is really that bad. The acting looked so fake to me, Really bad camerawork, Bad special effects, Bad looking monsters. So many things that don't make any sense. None of the plots are ever explained, and I'm left behind with so many questions. There is an army of people wearing a white burka with a black triangle on it... that isn't even creepy! Who came up with that? That person has watched way too many terrorist movies. lol But all the jokes aside... It feels like the creator picked something from the most popular horror movies and smashed it together, Thinking it would end up perfect. Sadly enough the creator failed at every attempt. I think the name of this movie should be changed into "aVoid"
This was ace. Having been this entertained by a movie in a while. No expectations. The acting was solid. The atmosphere was just right. Loved it.
With an atmosphere of dread and isolation, the Void works even if only for its visual appeal and body horror.
