I feel like this movie was too scared to really get into the deep, which made it less emotional than I thought it would be. Because of the lack of debt, this movie didn't move me as much as I thought it would. But I enjoyed it nonetheless. It kind of felt like a laidback drama. Which seeing the topic of the movie, shouldn't have been. It worked though. You don't really get to know the characters on a personal level, which is unfortunate, but it wasn't a real dealbreaker for me personally. This movie is a beautiful story that didn't get the chance to show it's full potential. If you're into these kinds of movies I really recommend you to watch it. If you aren't into it and you decide not to watch it, you're not really missing much.

Sappy drama gets an extra point for touching my heart occasionally. Otherwise, the script is pretty dumb, so leave your cynicism at the door when you watch the film.

I watched this about five years ago but really didn’t remember all that many details. I’ve always been a fan of Gerard Butler in most things. I’m not going to say he’s the best actor but I like the characters he plays. There’s something that I love so much about this movie. That father & son relationship just hits home for me. There’s also multiple moments and some conversations that really hit the mark. There’s a scene where a man has to walk away to go cry. Men cry but we rarely, if ever do it in front of people. That scene hit pretty hard because I think all of us men can relate to that. This isn’t a perfect movie by any means but I personally really like it. Those dramatic moments really elevated this for me. * Alison Brie Movies Themed Week
