Mother’s Day is about a few different mothers who all experience mother’s day in a different way. There is a lesbian moms couple, a divorced mom, even a dad “mom” and a whole lot more. Because there were so many story lines it felt like the movie really wasn’t about anything and we were just watching a few characters their lives play out around mother’s day (I guess you could say a bit like a real life show, with much less information). I mean it was a fun watch and I always enjoy these kind of laid-back movies were you just watch a few characters with amazing houses and great lives, it’s fun. So I personally enjoyed this movie. Although it wasn’t the greatest movie alive, obviously. I really enjoyed the cast, they did a great job on that one. All the characters were very likable which I loved. The movie itself had some pretty random shots in it, which I mostly still don’t understand why they were there, and personally, I would have liked to see more interesting things instead of those. Some of them were funny but none were important. Overall this was a real feel good movie and I enjoyed it, but that’s it.
This is really, REALLY bad! They hired some big Hollywood names and forgot to hire a screenwriter. Honestly, I can't think of anything that is good about this. What a waste of talent and time. I give this a 2 (RRB, see above) out of 10.
**The Good**: + A star-struck cast. **The Bad**: - The aforementioned cast of heavyweight stars in a meaningless rom-com utilizing all of its genre specific clichés and never getting anything of value done. - All actors are subpar at best and bad at worst. **Jennifer Anniston** is particularly bad. - Two hours is excessively long a runtime for a movie in which nothing happens. - The humour is either hopelessly childish or simply tasteless. - The characters are lifeless and difficult to grip - the film lacks emotional impact. - Lazily written script; it is forgettable, predictable and takes too many easy ways out of tense moments. - **Julia Roberts** is criminally underutilized. - **Garry Marshall** fails to connect the different parts of the movie into a coherent whole; instead, _Mother's Day_ feels like a set of unrelated and irrelevant scenes. **Verdict**: Even Hollywood’s brightest stars cannot save this hollow movie.
Decided to watch this for the Jerry Scene and was not disappointed at all. Very good ending and just overall liked it.
My friends and I have a bad movie club, and we collectively agreed this is the worst piece of garbage we've watched so far. If I had to choose between seeing this movie again, or having a lobotomy, it actually wouldn't matter which one I chose because they would achieve the same result.
