Handlung
Die ehrgeizige Sekretärin Tess findet eine Anstellung bei der Unternehmensberaterin Katherine Parker, einer knallharten Geschäftsfrau. Tess' weitsichtiger Vorschlag, eine Fusion zweier Firmen in die Wege zu leiten, verbucht Katherine auf ihr Konto, was Tess zufällig herausfindet, als Katherine sie nach einem Skiunfall bittet, kurzfristig ihre Angelegenheiten zu übernehmen. Tess gibt sich daraufhin als Geschäftsfrau aus, arbeitet mit dem Fusionsvermittler Jack Trainer zusammen und leitet "ihren" Deal in die Wege. Als Katherine unversehends zurückkehrt, stellt sie Tess wütend bloß. Doch durch ihre neugewonnene Kompetenz kann Tess das Vertrauen der Firmenbosse zurückgewinnen und erhält schließlich sogar einen Platz als leitende Angestellte.

this is one of the movies that kicked off that it was okay to be strong, independent, smart and not be a b****. after over 30 years this movie still shows the way a good part of the USA still is. corporate America still worships the MCP's. fortunately there are more and more men who find that behavior crude and realize some of the best minds are in women's bodies

I just can't help thinking about how she left one cheater just to be with another. I'd rather see Tess and Katherine strike out on their own together (and maybe kiss a little too)

Did I miss something here? I know that I am watching this film decades after it was made, but.... this is a classic? I am all for movies about strong women (although this works better as an underdog story), but this film was pretty cheesy and completely unrealistic.
