This is an interesting documentary that feels like it kind of skirts around the deeper issues it could have probed. I mean, it discusses race, for example, but it sort of walks around it, just frivolously talks about “urban vs. suburbs” and “hip hop was cooler.” And it doesn’t wholly connect to other characters in sports in a way I sort of supposed it would. It’s worth watching, but there is something missing that I can’t quite but my finger on. That narration script is pretty cliche-ridden.
