Surviving Them Is Hell

Mostly a miserable experience. A couple of the short films show signs of invention but the others are predictable in plotting. A little bit like real holidays I guess. Bah humbug!
1- **Valentine's Day**⠀ 5/10 *A bullied teen wants her coach as her valentine but bullies get in her way.* The bully was really irritating and I wanted to punch her so great job on that. The main character didn't talk at all which is interesting. A little simplistic overall but it felt very much like a Valentine's Day story, especially the ending. It's a shame they didn't show enough towards the end. --- 2- **St. Patrick's Day**⠀ 6/10 *Elizabeth, a school teacher is pregnant... but, with what?* *Rosemary's Baby* meets *Raised by Wolves* (series). Some interesting visuals and camerawork here. Rosemary's Reptile scene made me laugh and also the intense clothes smelling. Good acting from Ruth Bradley. The little girl was creepy. Good story for a short but it had nothing to do with St. Patrick. --- 3- **Easter**⠀ 7/10 *On Easter, a little girl is visited by the Easter Bunny.* Eggs, rabbits and Jesus! It couldn't of felt more Easter than that, loved it. It was actually scary in some parts and I loved the creature design. Some scenes made me think of *Hatching* and *Crimes of the Future*. --- 4- **Mother's Day**⠀ 7/10 *Kate is tired of getting pregnant, she's tried everything but... what about a ritual?!* It was obvious that something would go wrong but I loved what it turned out to be. Good Mother's Day tale and lots of uncomfortable scenes... and too much nudity. --- 5- **Father's Day**⠀ 6/10 *Carol receives a package from her father which she hasn't seen sinse she was a child.* With Jocelin Donahue, she really conveys emotion and you can really feel her pain with the facial expressions. Great atmosphere and heartfelt moments. The ending felt like it came out of nowhere it wasn't earned and no clues. I need an explanation. --- 6- **Halloween**⠀ 2/10 *A porn site manager abuses his employes and won't let them take a night off on Halloween.* How hard can it be to do a Halloween segment in a horror anthology? It's pretty much a free pass but this is what they thought of. It has nothing to do with Halloween and it was so dumb. The ending was good though and I laughed once at the beginning. --- 7- **Christmas**⠀ 6/10 *Pete (Seth Green) steals the Christmas gift he wanted from a dying man.* *Jingle All the Way* with a drop of karma and revenge. It has some Christmas spirit. Great idea for the toy that shows you YOU! --- 8- **New Year's**⠀ 7/10 *A serial killer has a date on new year's eve.* Awkward and creepy just like a first date. Good acting from the serial killer he was really creepy and ughh yuck those teeth! Nice little twist. Only segment with any decent blood and gore.
Simp Simulator 2016 - Horror DLC
Unexpectedly a horror anthology. I liked the Valentine's, New Year's and Halloween shorts. The rest were not that great.
Well, that was disappointing. Very few shorts were interesting but didn't come to anything either.
