Clint Eastwood is out here giving out strong Trump grabbing by the ----- vibes... My Ratings 10 - I love it, regardless of quality 9 - Very good, might not love but very well done or might love, forgiving some issues 8 - Very enjoyable or Just OK for me but well done 7 - Good 6 - Watchable despite not liking the film/show 5 - Mid 3-4 - Not great, but got through it 1-2 - Very bad/You might be a communist if you like this garbage
Undeniably creepy. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about 'The Beguiled', though. It's definitely one of the more bizarre films that I've seen, intentionally so of course. I'm just not convinced if it's a good film though, it does do a grand job at making the viewer feel uncomfortable but beyond that I'm not sold. Take out the oddness and there's not much there, I feel. With that said, it undoubtedly leaves an imprint and does what it intends to so I guess it levels out to be something worth watching. Clint Eastwood gives an almost eerily convincing performance, while those behind him are all solid - with the standouts, to me, being Geraldine Page and Mae Mercer. It's certainly 'out there', you gotta give it that. Overall I have mixed feelings, but I am leaning closer to positive than negative.
Darkly erotic horror civil war movie.
This is certainly one of the deeper Eastwood movies of the time. One that gives food for thought. He is an injured enemy soldier during the American civil war who happens to end up in an all girl’s catholic school for his recovery. This situation certainly opens a lot of angels for the story, starting with the fact that he is an enemy in enemy territory. He is also the only man amongst young girls and there is an older woman that is a kind of “Nurse Ratched” character. The movie manages to handle the different subjects quite well, even if some of the situations seem a bit forced into the plot. A very good movie not to miss.
4th time i watch this movie and i still love it... its soooo morbid!
