Die junge Gabrielle van der Mal tritt in ein Nonnenkloster ein, um dort die Demut vor Gott zu lernen und eine Krankenschwester zu werden, um im Kongo wirken zu können. Nach einer langen und entbehrungsreichen Schulung als Schwesternschülerin wird sie schließlich als Schwester Lukas zur Nonne geweiht.

Like when you drink instant chocolate milk but they forgot to stir it: it's bland and you wish they would've shaken things up. Audrey "Can Do No Wrong" Hepburn plays a nun in the Belgian Congo during World War II times, and even if she received an Oscar nom for her performance, no one watches Ms Hepburn to see a sage young woman behave herself in a good habit for over 2 hours. Come on, we watch Audrey for her rapscallion, incorrigible and sassy charm.
