Djinn is like being stuck in an elevator with a dance mom: it just goes on and on with no real story, just a series of bizarre anecdotes that don't make any sense. Tobe Hopper proves The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was just a fluke with this remake of Rosemary's Baby set in the United Arab Emirates. A woman's therapist forces her patient to obey her husband and move back to the United Arab Emirates after the death of their newborn ("Life goes on," is a direct quote from the psychologist). Once there, the couple move into an empty sky scraper that's enveloped by that famous desert fog. Then weird things lifted from countless other horror films happen and nobody cares how the movie ends as long as it does so quickly. The film's sole saving grace is Lebanese / British actor Razane Jammal who is so beautiful her presence distracts from the overwhelming mediocrity of the film.
