Standard Dickensian dribbeldy-poop extolling the joys of hearth and home. I may be a little prejudiced, but is death really better than a successful career and a bachelor's life? Excellent performances (especially Edna May Oliver and Blanche Yurka) elevate the material somewhat, and I'm always surprised by Dickens' wit, but this is definitely a product of his time.
