[VdR '26] Amidst everyday conversations about their lives and personal experiences, the contrast between the ostentatious interior of the music club and the precarious work of the young staff is reflected not through artificial emphasis, but through their own words. Although they rarely mention aspects of their daily work, the social differences emerge sharply. There is a certain ritualistic quality, reminiscent of religious ceremonies, in the way patrons enter the venue and the employees establish their work structure—a kind of capitalist liturgy that unfolds within nightclubs. In their designer uniforms, the Play House workers resemble members of a cult, and the customers are portrayed as undefined figures, like abstract specters, establishing an interaction that perceptibly traces the social inequalities fueled by capitalism.
