Handlung
Die Welt des elfjährigen Gabe ist überschaubar und umfasst genau die zehn Blocks, die sein Zuhause umgeben. Hier in seinem geliebten Manhattan erlebt der Junge seine erste große Liebe. Während seine Eltern ihre Scheidung planen, entflammt er im Karatekurs für die gleichaltrige Rosemary. Doch das Mädchen seiner Träume hat andere Pläne und will erstmal ins Sommercamp und – noch viel schlimmer – im Anschluss auf eine Privatschule wechseln. Gabe muss dringend in Aktion treten, um seine große Liebe in dieser wundervollen, magischen Welt – bekannt als Upper West Side – zu halten.

[8/10] I rewatched _Little Manhattan_ for the first time in years, and it was just as great as I remembered. It's just a cute story, and I love how goofy it gets in parts. It really leans into the fun of being a kid. There are also some surprisingly realistic moments—some fun, some serious. Most of all, I enjoyed that the viewer gets so much insight into Gabe’s thoughts and behaviors. He is such an endearing little boy! I’d honestly recommend this film to almost anyone! Especially if you're stuck home with a cold or the flu. It will take your mind of the misery for a little while, I'm sure. (It worked for me!)
