Peter Sellers is one of my favorite funnymen. Here he plays the bumbling Inspector Clouseau who tries to prove the innocence of the beautiful Maria (Elke Sommer). Sellers is just amazing in this and the future Clouseau movies. He also kills it in "Dr. Strangelove" as three different characters (Captain Lionel Mandrake/President Merkin Muffley/Dr. Strangelove). I don't want to sound prudish but this is a textbook example of how to be funny without being vulgar and crude (today's "comedies") or dull and vanilla (TV sitcoms).

This is the movie that actually set up the franchise. Clouseau takes his place as the lead and we get Kato attacking without reason, bumbling set pieces, Herbert Lom's Dreyfus chewing the scenery...this is where you SHOULD start watching the Pink Panther movies and toss out the first one.

This movie is sooo much better than the first one in the franchise. They put stupid drama/romance at the side and made a pretty good comedy. Plot is all over the place, there are still questions without answers, but who really cares :D I miss this type of comedy movies...great fun. 7/10

A lot more Clouseau in this one. Also, Herbert Lom is playing great.
