Die Reise der Familie nach Sreekandapuram, um die zweite Frau und den Sohn des verstorbenen Bharathan Nair dort anzusiedeln, nimmt eine düstere Wendung, als ein Problem aus seiner Vergangenheit wieder auftaucht und zu einem unerwarteten Verbrechen führt. Mohiniyattam surpasses its part 1 in literally every sense. The characters are given more room to perform, the premise is scary & funny, the situational comedy lands, the music hits with a powerful punch, the references feel honestly organic and writing is so much deeper & brilliant. A complete laugh riot.

A worthy sequel with a strong plot, the shift to dark comedy really works. The references are fun, and the performances especially by Suraj, Kalaranjini, and Baby Jean are excellent. It’s a shame such a good film is struggling at the box office. Clashing with Vaazha 2 wasn’t a smart move at all. Hope it gets the OTT rescue it deserves.
