Handlung
Der Highschool-Schüler Sutter Keely (Miles Teller) lebt getreu dem Motto ‘Carpe diem’ im Hier und Jetzt. Für den Senior ist das Leben eine ständige Party; der Job bei einem Herrrenausstatter verschafft ihm dabei das nötige Geld, um mit einem Auto Eindruck bei seiner heißen Freundin zu schinden. So könnte das Verharren in der Gegenwart ständig weitergehen. Bis er nach einer durchzechten Nacht in einer anderen Welt aufwacht, in der Welt von Aimee Finicky (Shailene Woodley). Anders als Sutter ist sie einem Morgen danach durchaus aufgeschlossen, auch wenn sie dieses Morgen mit einer ordentlichen Portion Science-Fiction-Literatur würzt. Dafür ist sie alles andere als hip, eben nur ein nettes Mädchen, das noch nie einen Freund hatte. Wider aller Erwartung verlieben sich die Beiden ineinander. Doch kann das auf Dauer gut gehen, wenn sich Sutter weiterhin einer sorglosen Gegenwart verpflichtet fühlt?

I was surprised, cause I found this movie, randomly, on Shailene Woodley's IMDB and decided to watch it. Didn't expect too much, but... Think I got caught by this movie.

Whatever message the movie was trying to pass along, it passed it in a very boring way. Wouldn't watch it again even if someone paid me to.

wow, great coming off age movie in a long time. natural acting by leads really helped.

I must be getting old as I am starting to really enjoy these kinds of coming-of-age films. This was one of the best that I've seen - you can see that Woodley and Teller are going to be stars.

I'm a sucker for a good coming-of-age movie. I didn't have high exceptions for this one since I only just heard about it and it exceeded my expectations. I thought the writing was excellent. Miles Teller and Shailene Woodley were both fantastic. I am watching this after they both have become bigger actors but I wish I would have seen this back in 2013 when they were still new. Brie Larson is also amazing as always. I love the message about not only living for today.
