Is this thing on? Ain’t a bad movie whatsoever but it just isn’t my type of film, I thought going into it was going to focus more on the comedy but it’s mostly about Alex and Tess’s marriage and while I do like aspects and respect what they was trying to do I didn’t find it interesting. For me the comedy style was very Dry and if you like that you will definitely love this movie, there was a few times that made me laugh still though. I did struggle getting invested in the story as there were some pretty slow parts and with the long runtime aswell it made it harder for me to enjoy. Will Arnett does a great job as Alex I liked him doing stand up nights even if they were awkward to watch at times, Laura Dern I already know is a very good actress with her roles in the Jurassic park films and the fault in our stars she does well here also but it’s not one of my favourite roles from her. And finally this thing just wasn’t on for me but like I’ve said it’s a decent movie and I get why other people would be a fan of it. 6/10.

Its surprising for me bcuz the dierector is bradly cooper and it turned out to be an amazing movie worth watching..

The name made it sound more like a comedy. This was leaning way more into drama. There were a few funny moments though. "My grandma used to say, “getting back with an ex is like taking a shit and trying to put back in your asshole.”

This example shows that if a relationship story is told solely from one person's perspective, like the man's in this case, it's likely to be a one-sided narrative. In this movie, the woman feels almost like a stereotype and Laura Dern's intensity doesn't quite fit the role, which makes it even more problematic. Plus, in a one-sided story, we're left wondering if that's how it truly ended. The script could have been stronger; it had a pretty good idea but didn't really use it to show the relationship better.
