I really like The Five Venoms. It's a crime mystery kung-fu style. Many people find this boring with too little kung-fu, but I disagree. The Five Venoms is one of Chang Chehs best crafted movies when it comes to story, and with the talent he gathered for this one, the kung-fu is bound to be great as well. There is some wirework that doesn't really look good, but otherwise the different poison clan styles are really fun and distinct styles of kung-fu. The Five Venoms are a really fun watch. Just don't expect a fight to break out every five seconds.

The original title of the film is Wu du.

One of my most favorite obscure martial arts movie! For sure. I really wish they would have remastered this one in Blu-ray. 😢

The ratio here of fight scenes to a labyrinthine murder mystery plot is way too low. I struggled to sustain interest in any of the main narrative, and the fights weren't up to snuff compared to my recent watch of 36th Chamber.
