Fantastic movie, intensity built up until the final moment. Shows a side of D-Day not everyone would have known about. Great cast and acting!
A fascinating film. Who could know just how critical the weather would be in the D Day landings. 👍 The tension keeps you on the edge of your seat... Is Group Captain Stag right or wrong? What a weight of responsibility for Stag and his meteorologists! Well worth a watch. 👍
A story about weather forecasting on D-Day does not sound like an interesting one, and yet that is exactly what Pressure is. Strong performances across the board and the weight of impossible decisions turn this into an effective chamber drama. While the film occasionally simplifies complex events and leans into dramatic confrontation, those choices rarely undermine its effectiveness. It may be a small-scale film, but the tension and significance make it feel much larger.
I have read and watched my fair share of WWII content. I truly wondered just how engaging another D-Day movie could really be, as I walked into the theater. On my way out, I turned to my husband and said "I know history. I knew the outcome. This movie had no business keeping me on the edge of my seat, and yet." As many ways as this history has been told and retold, this was a unique perspective and I truly appreciated that. Also? I need to give Brendan Fraser more credit for being able to take on a serious role. He made a strong Ike, in particular his voice really drove the role home for me. I have long said that those who declare that history is boring just haven't had it delivered to them in a compelling way. History is full of interesting stories to be told. I'll be thinking about this movie for a while.
Amazing cast! Excited for this movie. (Will edit comment after watching)
