Ugh, what a terrible movie. Honestly, one star is almost too generous for what I just saw. The idea of a streamer reacting to a paranormal video that turns into a real nightmare had potential, I admit, but the execution was absolutely terrible. For starters, Craven's character, who is supposed to be the film's hook, comes across as more insufferable than charismatic. His attempts at humor are forced, and his reactions, instead of drawing us into the tension of the moment, completely take us out of the film. And the group of "paranormal investigators," Pentagram, seems like something out of a cheap parody. Their performances are ridiculous, and the quality of their videos is so poor that it's hard to believe they find anything beyond dust specks. As for the horror... where's the horror? The scares are predictable, the special effects are tacky, and the atmosphere of tension is conspicuously absent. The entire film feels like a succession of poorly executed clichés, without a shred of originality or ability to generate real fear. And the ending... oh my goodness, the ending! Absolutely anticlimactic and without any kind of satisfying resolution. It leaves you feeling like you've wasted your time watching something that's going nowhere. Honestly, this film is a clear example of how a good idea can completely fall apart in the wrong hands. I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. If anyone is looking for a horror movie for Halloween, they should run away in terror from this failed and boring "live experience." A real disappointment.
