Luc Besson's 2025 take on Dracula offers a lighter, more diluted version of the myth, a clear departure from Coppola's intensity. It's an enjoyable enough watch, though Besson doesn't bring anything groundbreaking to the table. You'll have a decent time, nothing more, and it leaves you wondering: was this new adaptation truly necessary?
It is probably the worst and most idiotic film ever made about Dracula. To begin with, Luc Besson must think that people haven’t seen Coppola’s version, because he copies it relentlessly, even the music. He over-explains everything as if the audience were stupid, and the film is full of mistakes and absurdities, like the perfume scene… It’s cringe-inducing to watch that part, or the ridiculous nonsense with the gargoyles. Caleb Landry’s performance is just an over-the-top exaggeration of Oldman’s already heightened portrayal — which was wonderful, but here it’s simply embarrassing. By the way, who decided that Caleb is attractive? He looks as if Mick Jagger and Willem Dafoe had a child together and that child became a junkie. It’s a shame to see Christoph Waltz in such trash.
Compare to Nosferatu, this was pretty good
A visually arresting, emotionally charged, and hauntingly original take on the iconic legend. The pacing is masterful, slowly building tension while allowing the characters to breathe and evolve Outstanding performances,Besson at his best!
Why does he look like Willy Wonka I'm crying
