Brutal, referential, neat retro zoom ins. I just wish for an edit without the cheesy CGI faces.
Seems to mostly be a love or hate movie from ratings. Don't see why, it seemed a solid story.
When the credits appear, the speakers will be blasting loud brutal death metal. That tells you the target audience :). The movie is a rather slow mix between styles that ends with the teased possession story. A suprising amount of screentime goes to sexualised scenes but there is some drama in there too. It is never scary and has an awesome excurse to a revenge plotline which has some impressive gore in it's climax. Unfortunatly it's not perfect. The usual dumb thing they do in horror is present and the whole thing wouldn't even have happened if the parents weren't that incompetent. For some weird reason they employ dramatic zoom-ins which might be done for fun or throwback but it feels out of place. I would only recommend it to horror fans.
