What a fun movie. I really enjoyed it, maybe even more than the first one. Keep your expectations realistic and you will probably enjoy it as well. Don't go in expecting a true to lore documentary or a Hollywood blockbuster and just enjoy it. I hope they do a number 3, the end credits scene definitely hinted at the possibility. [spoiler] The same guy getting his newly rebuilt house that was destroyed in the first movie destroyed again just as he finishes it cracked me up! [/spoiler]

As I said in my review of the first Troll... I grew up with the stories, the drawings and the paintings, in the very valley where the most famous illustrator of the Norwegian trolls and other folk tales lived for much of his life... Norwegian folklore, and trolls especially, is very close to my heart. Hence... I was really looking forward to this follow-up to a film that I ended up liking despite its faults. "Troll 2" is a bit of a step back from the first one. It's more or less the same story as the first one, but this time with two trolls and a new city. The acting is... I'm sorry to say... mostly horrendously bad, and actually hampers a lot of my enjoyment of this film. To be honest... I was a bit disappointed by this. This doesn't mean I didn't enjoy parts of "Troll 2", but I really wish they had gone a bit of a different route. There's so much lore around trolls in Norway that it wouldn't really be that hard... Anyway... if you want to see some of the illustrations and paintings I were talking about above. Look up Theodor Kittelsen on Wikipedia as a start.

It was good, but I got bored during many scenes. They tried to make it like Godzilla vs. Kong, but it didn't quite work out. The acting isn't great. The script is classic, and the effects are nice. Is it watchable? Yes, it is. Still, give it a chance and watch it. We understand that it will continue in the final scenes. Most likely, they will experiment on that little troll and it will become a powerful mutated creature. Maybe we'll see it in the third film too. I'd give it a 6 out of 10. Not very bad, not very good. Slightly above average. Thanks for your efforts.
