A Lord of the Rings wanna be. They wanted it to be an epic tale, but didn't take the time or care needed to develop the worlds, the characters or the storylines. Great CGI characters and action, and you can tell it was filmed in Canada because a well trained eye will recognize the west coast bit players and extras earning a living. I give this a 5 out of 10.

I quite enjoyed this movie. Having never played any of the games it didn't feel like it was necessary to. The characters had some nice development and the cinematography was well produced. It was good fun and worth watching, but probably not going to re-watch it any time soon.

Every time I think of Warcraft I picture Cartman in his basement yelling for his mom...Bathroom!...mom! Bathroom!!!! Ppphhhffrrrrttt

The Orcs their world is dying so they have to go look for a new world to live in. They get called by a magic named the Fel and that’s how they find their new world. The first half of the Orcs goes through the portal and soon find out that their new world is already inhabited by the human race. The Fel is a dark magic that is slowly taking over all of the Orcs, and those Orcs want to kill all humans and take their world. Although some Orcs are still sane and they are out to try to find a way to live in peace among the humans. I heard of the Warcraft games before, but never bought the games to actually play it. So I had sort of knew what this movie was about but I didn’t know as much details about the worlds and races as the people who actually played the game. So I’m speaking out of the perspective of someone who doesn’t know the “original” story. I LOVED Warcraft! It was action filled and a great storyline. I really liked most of the characters and I’m very interested in getting to know more about them. Not only about their futures but about their history as well. Especially the Orcs. I now know why there are green and skin colored ones but I also want to know why Garona is an Orc but still looks so human in almost every aspect. Here is some praise for Paula Patton while I’m at it. I adored her, she played such a powerful character and she did great. Ben Foster was so so good as well, I really liked his character in the beginning but that soon enough turned around. They did a great job casting Ben Foster as Medivh, he's got a good face for it. Ben Schnetzer was kind of a new actor for me but I really liked his character and acting, I’m very excited to see more from him. I was a bit disappointed in Dominic Cooper, it wasn’t that is acting was horribly bad or something like that, I just found his character to be rather weak-ish. The following text contains me screaming (aka aggressively typing) about the amount of love I feel towards Travis Fimmel. You can skip it if you want :-) // I JUST WANT TO SCREAM IN TRAVIS FIMMEL HIS FACE HOW MUCH I LOVE HIM AND HOW PROUD I AM. I DONT KNOW WHY AND IT DOESN’T MAKE MUCH SENSE BUT I'VE SEEN HIM DOING ALOT AND I'M SO HAPPY THAT HE GETS TO BE A FRONTMAN IN THIS MOVIE I KNOW THAT SOUNDS WEIRD BUT HE IS SO AMAZING AND I HAVE BEEN SUPPORTING HIM FOR QUITE A WHILE NOW AND I’M JUST SO HAPPY THAT HE GOT THIS PART AND IT’S JUST PERFECT. ALTHOUGH I SOMETIMES HEARD HIS INNER RAGNAR LOTHBROK COMING OUT HE STILL DID SO GOOD AND HE JUST DESERVES SO MUCH. THAT’S ALL. // I am fascinated by how much they can make with computers now, and it keep getting better and better. I talked about it in my review of Jungle Book but with this one again, it’s amazing and I can’t wait to find out what they will be able to build in the future. I am very exited about Warcraft and how it will continue because I loved this one!

This film surprised me in a good way. I had absolutely NO IDEA what to expect from it. I never played the games and the trailer didn't exactly get me excited. But then I saw it and had to say, I really kind of liked it. Granted, I couldn't understand half of the proper names they were saying (I really missed the subtitles I always use at home), but it was an original plot (to me) that every time I thought it was going to go one way... it didn't. That was refreshing. The filmmakers have created some cool characters (though many gamers already recognized them) and inhabited a world I found interesting and would like to visit some more (in the movies... not the games). The closest thing I can compare this to are the "Lord of the Rings" & "Hobbit" trilogies, but that's only because I've seen them most recently. But it's a bit different. The right and wrong are still fairly well-defined in this world of Warcraft (pun intended) but both sides have right & wrong. I hope people give this movie a chance because it's worth a look. I'd like to see it again to see what I missed the first time through.
