Primbon is a birthday card with glued on pasta: childish and poorly put together. A young woman disappears into the jungle for seven days and when she comes back, she acts strangely (and badly). Primbon is a horror primer for kids, full of flickering lights and jump scares, bad acting and a script that is inherently flawed. The film tries to convince us that the busybody aunts are unsympathetic nutjobs because of their reliance on a religious guide book known as the Primbon, yet everything they predicted came true, every piece of advice they gave was valid, and the only ones who come out of this looking badly are the modern, optimistic people who scoff at the kooks. Throw a dollop of bad acting and a generous helping of unimaginative soundtrack on top of everything and what you've got is a horror movie that's safe for teens but not smart enough for them.
