I'm not adverse to remakes per se and especially not by the original director. It's interesting to behold what new angles are brought into the story. Too bad the new angles here are bland and uninteresting. I think it drops the ball entirely, in particular with the twistaroo of the original that becomes diluted and overly complicated with proxy characters. The scenography of the last act is quite the disappointment too. But it is a chilling watch considering the current trafficking affairs of the rich and powerful.
