I knew there'll be bad acting and ridiculous fighting. I watched for pure nostalgia and that what I got 😊
I know that there is no such thing as "objective" reviews. But I have to admit that my rating for this "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" reunion special is as far from objective as it gets. The 30-year-old series was really captured perfectly here: the acting is just as lousy as it was back then, the cinematography is also atrocious, and the dialogue is way too cheesy. But that's exactly what I expect from a special like this. I was a huge fan of the Power Rangers as a kid (until "In Space"), so I'm right in the target audience for this. Everyone else will surely only shake their heads in confusion, but I even shed a tear or two during the 55 minutes, especially at the end. Only the absence of a few key characters from the program is disappointing. At the very least, Bulk and Skull should have been present. Nonetheless, "Once & Always" is a must-see for MMPR fans.
Loved loved loved this special and I hope they continue the story!
Where to start! The acting is terrible, but that was forgiven because it's always been poor and it added to the nostalgia. The fighting? Lazy and sloppy but see above. The new kid? the less said the better, but she tries. This film really only exists for the people like me, the peeps who 30 years ago were pretending to be rangers in their garden with friends. It's sloppy, its badly acted, it's got terrible plot, it's missing some key characters (some for tragic reasons of course) but it will leave you smiling of those times of old. The ending is also quite a nice nod, as expected. Give it a go! Party watch it with those old friends and smile. It's only 50 mins long.
What a piece of garbage, definitely a new low for Netflix. One thing for sure, the B feeling the tv show had when it was released, Netflix managed to preserve this feeling perfectly in 2023.
