The worst movie in the entire mcu. I pirated this, and I still want my money back
I don't get how people actually enjoyed this movie, maybe because it is different than all the slop marvel has put out since Endgame?!?! Overall, this was just not good. I'll give you this, the set pieces looked great, but the characters looked like they were cosplaying in every scene. There was never a sense of urgency because everything always felt so fake, like nothing really mattered because you already knew the outcome. The fact that none of the characters ever really used their powers as well was another reason why it was so boring. Ugh, I had such high hopes for this one as well.
Nice production design, mostly good SFX besides some really sloppy effects, good chemistry of the main cast and the movie takes its time for some drama. BUT: there are three major problems of the story that ruin the mostly positive aspects and execution of this movie: - if you want to teleport something from A to B then you need on both locations your teleporters and not only on earth. This whole ‘plan‘ of teleporting the earth to a far far away galaxy with teleporters only on earth made no sense. - The Human Torch learns a completely foreign language only by a sentence and finds data and audio from extraterrestrial civilizations that fit to this sentence to learn the language within hours and days. And with this language and data he touches emotionally the Silver Surfer that we as viewers get as a bonus some exposition about the background of the Silver Surfer, its emotional suffering and motivation to serve Galactus. All this within minutes and feels as deus ex machina than developed by the story or characters. - the final battle against Galactus: Sue Storm is so powerful that she can push Galactus into the teleporter cyrcle. You may say, she develops more powers because Galactus has her child and that it’s now personal and Sue Storm fights like a lioness to protect her son. But on the other hand, Galactus is such an ancient and powerful being and shouldn’t be that lazy written and weak. This whole scene was not convincing. It’s a pity, the movie started promising and well, had an interesting middle part, but the third act is lazy written, rushed and not convincing.
