Es ist wieder Freitag und Craig hat immer noch keinen Job. Deebo will sich an Craig rächen und bricht aus dem Gefängnis aus. Um sich vor Deebo zu schützen, verreist Craig zu seinem Onkel Elroy in die Vorstadt. Elroy lebt nach einem hohen Lottogewinn in einem ansehnlichen Haus, zusammen mit seinem Sohn Day-Day und seiner Freundin Sugar. Doch als eine zwangsläufige Versteigerung des Hauses, durch nicht bezahlte Steuern eintrifft, stellt sich heraus, dass Elroy längst das ganze Geld verprasst hat. Um die Versteigerung zu verhindern, brechen Day-Day und Craig in das Nachbarshaus der drei mexikanischen Brüder ein, um sich das nötige Geld zu klauen.

Next Friday feels like hanging out on the porch all afternoon when you probably should’ve gone home hours ago. It’s not as sharp or iconic as the first Friday, but it’s still got that laid back, goofy energy that makes it easy to just let it play and laugh when it hits. Mike Epps basically walks in and steals the movie without asking. Day-Day is loud, ridiculous, and somehow the funniest thing in almost every scene. Ice Cube is more low key here, letting the side characters do a lot of the heavy lifting, and honestly that’s where the movie shines. The jokes don’t all land, and some bits drag like they’re waiting for a punchline that never shows up, but when it’s funny, it’s really funny.
