This show is so underrated. It somehow manages to make you feel calm and relaxed like you're on holiday with Simon, and yet tense and cringing at the way his family acts. It's just like being on your own family holiday. And to top it off, Joe Wilkinson playing a serious character and creating the show really shows how good he actually is.
First series with Bobby Ball is exceptional
Very good. Subtle, not overly obvious. I initially took some time to appreciate Joe Wilkinson, but credit must be given. The writing and performances by Joe and the ensemble are excellent. Sue Johnson's performance stands out as BAFTA-worthy. Her comedic timing and acting are naturally humorous.
Wonderful script and brilliantly acted. A delight to watch from start to finish.
