Although HBO's reference here is clearly "Game of Thrones", the execution is too "mid" and muddled to cause the same kind of emotional investment. The show keeps adding to the plate without allowing the audience enough time to connect with the material, and once all the pieces fall back in place in the finale, the payoff feels underwhelming. Hopefully, extending the number of episodes per season will provide room to flesh out the subplots in a less trivial and oversimplified manner.

This series explores the origins of the Bene Gesserit sisterhood, and I loved seeing the intricate politics and power struggles at play. The characters were complex and multi-dimensional, especially the Harkonnen sisters, who were at the center of the story. I initially tuned in because of Travis Fimmel, a huge fan of his work in Vikings…and I wasn't disappointed. He brought a compelling intensity to his character, Desmond Hart, who quickly became one of my favorites in the series. However, I did find the pacing to be a bit of an issue. At times, it felt like the show was dragging its feet, and I found myself getting frustrated with the slow build-up. The last episode was also a bit of a letdown for me… it felt underdeveloped and choppy, and I didn't get the sense of satisfaction that I was hoping for. Despite these issues, I still enjoyed the show, and I'm looking forward to seeing where season 2 takes the story. The world-building was impressive, and I loved seeing the different factions and alliances at play. The cast was also great, with standout performances from the lead actresses.

It’s really poorly written. They’ve obviously never read the Dune series. A huge disappointment compared to the movies.

It's okay, but not great. Definitely a lot of ups and downs and at times feel a little bit... messy? Emily Watson as the older version of Valya wasn't a very good fit and her acting was lacking a lot for me. Good start, hopefully the next season will be better. _Why make a 6 episode season instead of a movie? A lot of fluff could have been cut and it would have felt better._
