**MY THOUGHTS ON VAN HELSING:** _**-WARNING: Spoilers Below-**_ This was a ride! Unfortunately at the end of the show it was less of a good ride and more of a bumpy one but damn I'm glad I watched it. It had the perfect amount of seasons and anymore would have been a bit too much and any less wouldn't have gotten the story across good enough. I'd definitely recommend people watch this. There were some phenomenal seasons in this, seasons 1, 2 & 3 were some of the best seasons of a Vampire show that I have seen in a good while. Whilst I was watching them this was one of my favourite TV Shows but unfortunately seasons 4 & 5 changed that. In the earlier seasons I loved watching the Vampires take over the country and overpower people. Vanessa's rise to power was also brilliant to watch. The reason I didn't particularly like seasons 4 & 5 was because I found Dracula quite... disappointing. The actress was great but I feel like the script writing didn't give her justice and didn't let her show off her skills to the best of her abilities and in doing so Dracula was a bit of a let down. I also found Vanessa **EXTREMELY** irritating. She became one of the most badass women into of the most self centred, irritating and just straight up annoying characters in any show. It's a shame because she was surrounded by some phenomenal talents but unfortunately she let the squad down at times. When Vanessa finally left the show I felt like it was a blessing in disguise because Jack was talented enough to carry the show whilst not being irritating. There were some brilliant characters in this show. In the earlier seasons I loved; Axel, Julius, Sam & Mohamad. These were some of the best characters I had seen, Mohamad and Axel were my favourites back in Season 1, I loved the dynamics between Sam and Mohamad and Axel was one of the coolest characters in the show. As the seasons went on and we unfortunately saw the death of Mohamad and the change of Sam some changes ended up happening in my list of favourites. I loved Sam at the beginning but as cool and dark as his path to being an "elder" was it unfortunately made my opinion on him change, he wasn't a favourite anymore, was this because the actor had done anything? **No!** It was because his character completely changed! Yes he was always evil but no he was... **evil** and I really started to dislike watching him. Julius became incredible and was 100% my favourite character until his unfortunate death, seeing his backstory and how he became the man we know and love was brilliant. Axel was always one of the coolest guys in the show, I always adored him and I always viewed him quite highly. We also had the short addition of Vanessa's sister Scarlett. She was a brilliant addition to the show and seeing her slow romance build with Axel was one of the most heartwarming parts of the show. It was such a shame that she ended up dying and I felt so **annoyed** at how it happened. I can 100% understand Axel's reaction. Scarlett was possibly one of the better characters when she was added but of course super Vanessa has to be at the front of the show! Even though she was literally the worst character ever. At times the show could get a little slow and it had some extremely disappointing seasons and episodes. At one point it was my favourite show and by the end of it ended up being a show that I only watched because I wanted ot finish it. I am definitely glad I watched this but I really wish they took a few more risks with it. Overall I definitely recommend people watch this especially if you're a big fan of Supernatural based shows. This show has some really cool Vampires. Dracula is fairly disappointing and the plot can be a bit stupid and stale at times but overall it was well worth the time. **Overall rating: 7/10**
Surprisingly good - and not, what I expected...
Made it through the fu\irst handful of this show until I had to turn it off.. standard, cheap, flat looking Canadian Sci-fi aesthetic that I hate. Could easily have been called Forever Knight 2.0 if they weren’t trying to tie this to the comic book boom. Kind of embarrassing Canadian TV has progressed so little visually since that old Toronto fang show.
Can you believe? A show done so bad that even cameramen sometimes faint (I'm not kidding sometimes the shot do unnatural shakes, so sloppy). Men bitten by vampires that sometimes become sentient vampires, sometimes instead dog-ish vampires, sometimes just rabid but it depends by astral conjunction. Sometimes vampires can talk, sometimes they don't. But if bitten by THE HERO VANESSA VAN HELSING they turn back!! It looks like a bunch of people just wandering around in a 1x1km land, meeting each other, killing, with no plot or sense. Characters act so so stupid, and do or don't do things without any logical reason. Totall waste of time!
Low budget crap so far and it has absolutely nothing to do with Van Helsing. It is a crap version of Walking Dead with vampires instead of zombies and a twist that is never really used properly.
