Season 3
As the Rocinante crew digs deeper into the search for Prax's missing daughter, the war between Earth and Mars turns deadly in ways the solar system has never seen. But a new threat in the outer reaches of the Belt could prove much more dangerous, threatening to test the very future of humanity.
Fight or Flight
The Rocinante crew deals with the fallout over Naomi's betrayal while caught in the middle of the war between Earth and Mars. Meanwhile, Avasarala and Bobbie hatch an escape plan.
IFF
The Rocinante answers an unexpected distress signal. Bobbie and Avasarala find themselves being hunted by a mysterious captor. UN Secretary-General Sorrento-Gillis brings in a colleague from his past to lend an ear during this crucial time of war.
Assured Destruction
As Earth strategizes a costly ploy to gain advantage in the war against Mars, Anna struggles to convince Sorrento-Gillis to do the right thing. Avasarala and Bobbie seek refuge aboard the Rocinante.

The Rocinante tends to wounded Martian soldiers in exchange for supplies. Avasarala struggles with how to disseminate a key piece of evidence despite being in hiding.
Triple Point
The search for Prax's daughter comes to a head. Admiral Souther's men plan for mutiny aboard the Agatha King
Immolation
The final battle between Earth and Mars threatens the very future of humanity. A new monster is unleashed on Prospero Station. Anna receives the smoking gun she needs.
Delta-V
All eyes turn to the edge of the solar system as a mysterious new presence emerges; Naomi recommits to her roots; Drummer butts heads with a seasoned new commander aboard the Behemoth; and a young Belter makes a name for himself.
It Reaches Out
An old friend taunts Holden with the answers he seeks. Naomi struggles to fit in. A mysterious low-level tech aboard the Thomas Prince enacts a terrifying plan.
Intransigence
The Rocinante seeks a new gameplan as they attempt to avoid capture. Melba's true motives are revealed. Naomi is torn between identity and ideal. Anna seeks a way to stay aboard the Thomas Prince.
Dandelion Sky
Holden sees past, present, and future. A ghost from Melba's past threatens her mission. Bobbie struggles to trust an old friend as she leads a group into unchartered territory.
Fallen World
Drummer and Ashford find themselves trapped with few options for survival; Anna tends to the wounded masses as Melba continues to hunt down her prey; the Rocinante crew struggles to survive as Naomi reunites with her true family.
Congregation
As survivors arrive at the Behemoth, two factions form over how to handle a life-or-death threat. Holden grapples with what he's seen and the choices he must make.
Abaddon's Gate
Holden and his allies must stop Ashford and his team from destroying the Ring, and perhaps all of humanity.

Now THAT was a hell of a ride. And I enjoyed every seconds of it.
The Expanse is one of the best sci-fi shows produced in the last years, as well as Altered Carbon.
Season 3 started off slow for the first few episodes but once the main story got set it was a very strong season. In my opinion it was the best season for the show so far, [spoiler]even though the ending was rather predictable with Melba doing a good deed and helping. Loved the return of Thomas Jane.[/spoiler] Very glad Amazon picked up the show for the future after Sci-Fi cut it because I think it has a few more seasons left of being a good show because there is a lot more story they can tell.
Very weird season. Incredible for the first 6 episodes, then messed up and mediocre (compared to the previous episodes and seasons) for ep 7-10, then it picks up for another incredible run in those final 3 episodes. Great all in all, leaves you wanting more... should have really needed a better bridge for that central part of the season but glad it wasn't a general decline
This season has cemented _The Expanse_ for me as a show that is good but rarely great. The ideas here are fantastic but the execution so often lets it down. It's not afraid to completely change storytelling direction (I think this is more an effect of switching up book adaptions halfway through each season), and just like the previously we end up with two very different halves of a season. The first half was by far the better one for me. The search for Prax's daughter, having Bobby along for the ride, the full corruption of Errinwright and the fantastic dynamic of Avasarala/Cotyar. Plus, it went some way towards rounding out the bad guys and giving us more perspective on everything happening. The second half of the season with the ring eventually built up to something quite exciting, but felt lesser all the time. Captain Ashford's motivations and personality seemed to change at the drop of a hat (an issue with most characters here), and Melba was an extremely disappointing direction for the story. There is still a core issue in that I don't think the cast are quite right. The loss of [spoiler]Thomas Jane was heavily felt, as I think he was by far the best actor on the show and without him it all feels a bit amateur. So I am beyond delighted that he returns, however small the role is.[/spoiler] I just don't think that the crew of the Rocinante have any chemistry together. Both Holden and Naomi are extremely empty characters and I find it hard to be engaged whenever they are the focus of a scene. On the plus side, this is a compelling world that's been built. The various factions finally have been fleshed out to be more understandable and sympathetic, making for a nicely complex set up. Bobby Draper has evolved to become one of the most interesting and fun characters on the show and the addition of Elizabeth Mitchell has been very welcome. And at the end of the day I am delighted to have some real sci-fi television back in my life after so many years of nothing.
