I definitely would still be watching if it hadn't been canceled. Love the whole feel of the series.
I could have really liked this a lot more hadn´t it been for that dumb spy stuff. That doesn´t work and it is rather unbelievable. I enjoyed most of the show though but it never was clear what they really wanted to achieve. A light, easy, entertaining show for the whole family - which would totally be OK. Or a suspense, spy, cold war show - which would also be OK. But the two don´t mix well and in the end it´s neither. Which I find kind of sad because I really like period shows and they hit the nail with the look and feel. So I´m afraid I can understand why Pan Am never really took off ;-)
Definitely an uneven production—and as others noted, the weird spy thing is unnecessary and silly. However I came to sing the praises of Karine Vanasse (Colette Valois) as an overlooked talent who brings charm, gravitas and natural pathos to a heavy role. Christina Ricci surprisingly is a yawn whose promise in the pilot went nowhere. Margot Robbie played it flat, with no glint of the outstanding darkly comic talent she's come to embody in later roles. The finale was plotted as if it intended to have a second season. I would have watched. To my mind far more watchable than ludicrous _The Flight Attendant_ (2018) 7/10
Revisiting this series makes me which I'd appreciated it more when it was airing.
